“Success is waking up in the morning, whoever you are, wherever you are, however old or young, and bounding out of bed because there’s something out there that you love to do, that you believe in, that you’re good at—something that’s bigger than you are, and you can hardly wait to get at it again today.”
— Whit Hobbs
CIO Mastermind Peer Advisory Groups are comprised of more than professionals in their field; it is made up of those who are driven by the conviction that their work has meaning, and that what they do now affects today and tomorrow for their families and for this world. They are people who understand that life-long learners are the only life-long leaders, and who do not settle for success in a moment but strive for influence over generations. This is their joy.
Have you wondered what really happens within our Peer Advisory Groups?
We tackle both external and internal leadership.
At our last meeting, one bottleneck provided solutions on how to increase visibility into the office of CIO. We discussed how to use communication to set and manage expectations of users and stakeholders, and how to appropriately promote the impact the CIO and their teams are having.
Another bottleneck addressed leading the CEO to create the formal position of CIO, promoting from the rank of Director. The current flow chart was dissected, political considerations were given, and a clear path and strategy emerged.
Each of the bottlenecks had external and measurable outcomes in their solution; and, along the way, each person discovered internal leadership they needed to become aware of, resolve and exercise.
Peer learning, leading practices and supportive community is irreplaceable in today’s currency of gaining advantage and staying ahead. Without the insight of others, waste of time, energy, ability and money accumulates. No leader today will survive under the burden of expectations weighed down by less than best execution.
Do you qualify for this group? Do you bring to the table expertise to help others as well as character forged in the trenches? Are you seeking to continue to expand your ability to bring more to your team and company?
Let’s explore the possibility.
